The co-op negotiates discounted prices for fuel oil, propane, kerosene and service contracts each spring for the upcoming season. Members must reapply each summer to qualify for the co-op prices in the following heating season. Members create a password-protected account on this website and pay the membership fee when the membership period opens. They enter into a contract directly with the co-op supplier for fuel and other products and services. The annual, non-refundable membership fee is $10.
The co-op is administered by a small group of unpaid volunteers who have no connection to the industry or to any heating fuel company. One part-time employee responds to emails and telephone inquiries. All members are invited to share in these administrative tasks involved in running the co-op.
Online registration is available any time on this website. Creating such an account ensures you will be sent further information about the sign-up periods and contracts offered each year, it does NOT make you a member of the co-op. Once the new season prices have been negotiated they are posted, together with the dates of the annual membership application period, on this website and on the co-op's Facebook page. The Facebook group page is open to members and non-members of the co-op, and we encourage comments and posts related to heating and energy conservation issues. Please also read our FAQ page on this website before joining the co-op.
